Entourage: Aquamom
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Cable, HBO, Entourage, Features,
The premiere picks up several months after last season’s finale. Aquaman has already been filmed and the premiere is just days away. The most important task at hand right now is figuring out which of the lovely ladies out there are premiere-ticket worthy.
Ari, of course, has other matters to worry about. His new West Hollywood digs don’t come with cleaning staff… or a working elevator… or a parking garage. His main client, Vince Chase, is coming by for his first visit and Ari is freaking out. As usual, his small staff of nine bears the brunt of his outbursts.
Although Vince seems perfectly at ease about his upcoming night, Ari is far from calm. Vince apparently doesn’t recognize the importance of the evening and Ari wants to make sure he rises to the occasion. This is Vinnie’s opportunity to show the world that is is man not a boy, and his date choice for the evening must reflect his status. Simply arriving with his usual entourage will not suffice. Vince still doesn’t seem concerned but decides that the only woman he would want to invite is his mom. AQUAMOM!. Vince’s brother, Johnny ‘Drama’, believes he would have to pull off a miracle to get her to LA… especially considering that she has never made an appearance at any of his affairs. Regardless, Vince is convinced that he can make it work.

The Real Life Desperate Housewives?
Posted by Eric Chaloux Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, Desperate Housewives,
It’s a show that is nothing like it’s name…Tuesday Night Book Club airs Tuesday on CBS. Right off the top you’ve got to figure out that it’s not about books. I don’t think that would bring in the big numbers CBS is hoping for with this summer series. It’s a one-hour show that follows the lives of seven “real” women as they deal with life in Scottsdale, Arizona. Well, as real as it can get with a camera crew following you around 24/7. It’s kind of a Desperate Housewives with a reality show twist. We’ll have to watch and see who turns out to be the real Susan or Bree.

Comedic Legend John Cleese To Teach
Posted by Eric Chaloux Categories: Comedy, Talent, The Office, News,
John Cleese, one of the founders of the the comedy troupe Monty Python’s Flying Circus, the star of TV’s Fawlty Towers, and countless other comedic roles has a new one up his sleeve. Cleese confirmed to The Times of London that he plans to write a history of stage, film, and TV comedy - from silent classics to sitcoms like The Office.
It’s the first time in recent months we’ve heard from Cleese after his character on NBC’s Will and Grace was written off after being Karen’s quickie husband. Cleese told the Times, “I’m too tired to write new comedy. I can never do better than the Fawlty Towers whatever I do. No, I very much want to teach young talent some rules of the game.” No word on where he’ll teach just yet..but we’re sure he’ll have no problem filling up the seats.

Late Night With The Muppets?

TBS just announced that it will air a half-hour pilot of a talk show called “Late Night Buffet.” Here’s the twist – it will involve Jim Henson puppets interviewing celebrity guests. No old school Muppets – like Kermit, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, etc. – here though. The show will feature a host named Augustus Pfiffle and his sidekick Delbert Kastle, as well as a late-night band of puppets. TBS plans to mainly target female viewers with this new venture…I know I’ll tune in! No word yet on the date of the pilot episode, but it will be taped July 22nd.

Food Network Caters Your Wedding

Food Network should be getting really excited about their new special, Food Network Caters Your Wedding. This show chooses one couple out of hundreds of contestants and helps them with their wedding by catering the entire thing. Even more exciting, the lucky pair becomes judges of a wedding cake competition given in their honor. The cake they choose to be the winner will be created for their very own reception. The couple may know a lot about food, but they couldn’t possibly make all of these decisions themselves. Food Network Stars come in at this point to aid the couple in making the best choice for food and wine. Giada de Laurentis and Bobby Flay helped out in this past episode making the Las Vegas wedding a complete success.
Degrassi: High Fidelity - Part Two

Part Two of the season finale starts with Marco and Spinner still working on the upcoming variety show. Marco praises Spin for the touching ceremony with Darcy he had just witnessed the night before, only to be surprised by the news of their breakup. Even more shocking was hearing Spinner admit to kissing someone else that same night. At that precise moment, Paige walks into the room causing Spinner to get all flustered and stumble onto the floor. Marco easily figures out that Paige was Spin’s mystery woman. Cue Darcy (having a Sandy from Grease moment) to walk into the gym and see her ex still lying on the ground. Instead of kicking him while he is down, she actually begs him to take her back—right before she plants a passionate kiss on him in public. She apologizes for being a freak and asks him to consider her.

FOX Gives ‘Always Sunny’ Exposure
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, Cable, FOX,
The upcoming second season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” begins Thursday, June 29th at 10 PM on FX. To give it a boost, the FOX Network will be broadcasting several episodes from the series’ first season, beginning tonight, June 11th at 9:30 PM, following Family Guy. The following two Sundays will feature an episode each night as well. FOX is hoping that this additional exposure will give the series a lift in viewership when it begins airing on FX.
The show centers around four friends who own a bar in (where else?) Philly – and received excellent reviews during the first season as an offbeat comedy that took risks. This season, Danny DeVito joins the cast as well. Definitely worth a look if you missed the first season.
Jack Bauer, the star on 24, may be coming to a theater near you. 20th Century Fox and the producers of 24 have inked a deal to make a movie about the exploits of special agent Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). Sutherland’s publicist in many reports says Kiefer is interested but hasn’t signed on the dotted line. So when Sutherland signs on to it viewers will get the same writing as they’ve come to expect on the television show as all of the writing staff will be on board for the project. We all know that the show is based on 24 hours and the producers say they’ll give that up when writing the movie so you won’t have to spend a whole Saturday at the theater. It looks like shooting on the movie 24 would begin after the sixth season on television, which began airing on FOX in January, wraps up.

Project Catwalk, the UK version of Project Runway has a new hostess- Ozzy’s little girl, Kelly Osbourne. Squeezing out former host Liz Hurley, (reportedly for being “too wooden”- who are these visionaries, and will they save us from Katie Joel?) Kelly brings her…wacky sense of fashion to the runway. Osbourne says she’s excited at “the chance to do a show that features two of my favorite loves- TV and fashion is a dream come true. What more could a girl want?”
Runway is brilliant, so I can only imagine Catwalk is just as juicy. However, hosting a reality show takes a little more than just having a famous relative (see rant on Katie Joel above), so let’s hope Kelly throws an f-bomb at any ragged seams- she’ll show those gauchos who’s boss!
